🇦🇺 NSW [49% ABV] From “A Renowned NSW Distillery” (can’t say which one, but they’ve rated as high as 93 points in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible). It was matured in a thirty year old Oloroso Sherry barrel sourced from the Hunter Valley and bottled in 2017. These early bottlings are now so rare, Tim Duckett is offering to buy them back! Extremely limited stocks. Tasting note: Deep amber. Sherry makes an impact on the nose, but it's the A-grade quality of the spirit that really gets your attention - as does the overall balance. Hints of poached stone fruits and sweet spices weave through the barley. The slow fanning of spices both delights and adds a genuine touch of class. Ginger snaps, smokey cardamom and late dried fruit sweetness. Lingers. Nothing in excess. Fabulous.
